Tips & tricks from our Metanium parents
As we are always exchanging valuable tips with our Metanium parents here at Metanium HQ, we want to share their amazing tips on the prevention and treatment of nappy rash. Read on to find out our best tried and tested advice. Enjoy!
Happy nappy routine!
If your baby doesn’t enjoy the nappy changing experience, or wiggles around too much when applying our nappy rash ointment, why not make the nappy routine a little more fun! Try hanging a mobile over your changing area to distract your little one, or give them a small toy to play with whilst you’re out and about. You could also put up pictures or mirrors for your baby to focus on as high- contrast patterns or bright colours are easiest for newborns to see, and what baby doesn’t get excited by a good mirror!
Every time you get the chance, lay your baby on a towel or changing mat with no nappy – going nappy free allows fresh air to get to their bottoms which will then minimise the chances for nappy rash to happen.
The perfect fit!
When you’ve applied some Metanium Everyday Barrier Ointment and are ready to put on a fresh nappy, try to make sure it fits snugly – not too tight and not too loose, allowing for air to circulate. This will further reduce the chances of moisture building up, meaning less chance of nappy rash!
Protect that delicate skin!
As much as it’s tempting to simply grab some baby wipes when your little one has nappy rash, why not follow NHS’ advice to use warm water and cotton wool or fragrance and alcohol-free baby wipes for cleaning your baby’s bottom? Our Nappy Rash Ointment can help battle any nappy rash irritation your baby might be having, whilst also helping clear it away.
Don’t get caught napping when it comes to nappy rash!
When your baby has a daytime nap it can be the perfect time to put your feet up and have a well-deserved rest. But don’t forget to change your little one’s nappy and use our Metaniun Everyday Barrier Ointment to help protect against nappy rash before your baby falls asleep. Long periods of time without changing the nappy can lead to nappy rash.
